Furthermore although I indicated I don’t eat red meat, I was still given a veal dish, then got the dish changed but this meant my companions needed to wait for me. The friendly staff made us feel very comfortable, and that was the highlight of the evening. Unfortunately the no onion... request beforehand wasn’t there. And the food was not really fine dining in our eyes, the game to guess where the food comes from is fun, and the view to the river is beautiful. However, when is comes to the taste, it was okay, we didn’t have any dish that tasted great, no seafood at all, and the dishes were quite big. In my opinion it’s not worth the price.read more

Our first time here was to celebrate a birthday of a close friend. Not only was the food great, but both Sam our server... and Ronald the owner were generous and informative throughout the whole experience.Each course was met with a description of what food it was made with and a fun guessing game of which country the cuisine came from. Without a doubt the most engaged I have ever been in a restaurant. The food is delicious and the vibe of the restaurant itself is highly positive with nothing but accommodating and friendly service.If you are looking for a restaurant where you can take a breather and relax for a few hours, I cannot recommend this place enough. Visiting this restaurant turned out to be a pretty big disappointment. It started out fine and the waiters were very... attentive and kind throughout the visit. The cauliflower soup was absolutely beautiful and it was easily forgiven that it needed salt. The following two dishes - the "japanese dish" and the "chinese dish” were also quite alright, but the flavours could have been balanced better. It was after this that it really started falling apart. The vegetables and the sauce in the “french dish” was very forgettable. and the fish was dry and simply not fresh and it did not teaste well at all. We made the waiter aware of this and he apologized and said he would let the chef know. Bad days for the chef can happen I guess, but at 80 EUR for a set menu you should at least be able to expect the food to be fresh and the flavours (and salt levels) to be balanced. Then came the dessert - the English carrot cake. This is probably the most disappointing thing I’ve ever been served in a restaurant. It was completely without flavour and dry like old bread. It was not possible to eat. We had to send it back to the kitchen. I don’t remember ever doing that before, but I saw no other option. The waiter politely apologized and came back with a new portion - this time the cake had been heated, but that didn’t really do any magic for the cake unfortuantely. It was just not worth eating.To be fair, they didn’t charge us for the cake, but the bill still ended at 170 EUR including water and soft drinks (no alcohol). If you have this kind of money to go out and eat for, I would strongly recommend you go somewhere else.read more

We're both vegan and we're looking for something a little swanky and this ticked all the boxes!! My friend very wisely chose this incredible restaurant to spend my birthday dinner together and woah, they exceeded our... expectations! Not only the staff is incredibly friendly, sweet, and super knowledgeable about the food they're serving but... OMG, THE FOOD! Each dish is prepared with care and honouring the ingredients and dish inspiration. We couldn't pick one favourite dish because they were all incredible! Every single dish had a specific and unique flavour profile that was perfectly well balanced. I also want to give a special thank you to our servers and genius chef because they brought out a sparkle candle and sang Happy Birthday to me, which was incredibly sweet. I can't wait to go back to Amsterdam so I can taste more of their delicious, well thought-out food!read more

Our experience had a lovely start but had a shocking decline. The restaurant has a gorgeous interior and the view over... the river is unbeatable. Our server was exceedingly friendly and fun. We really liked that each dish was based on a country and that we got to play a guessing game for every course.On the downside, the service was disappointing. Our drinks, amuse, and first course came out quickly, but the following four took a very long time. The restaurant wasn't particularly crowded, and we could see our server standing and chatting with other members of the restaurant staff. In the beginning, he said that if we would like to speed things up or slow things down, then it would be no problem at all, However, nothing changed at all after we asked. We got there at 6 PM and didn't leave until 9:30. What's worse is that some of the dishes were just lukewarm when they got to the table. It was fantastic food, but absolutely not worth the wait.I can't justify the price because it felt like we were there for so long. This is more of a nitpick, but it didn't feel great to see that our dessert came in the exact same dish as our first course, which was soup. To add to this, we saw another table receive the same soup in a different dish. If the service remained consistent throughout the night, this would have been 5 stars.read more

Our experience with the five course dinner has been disappointing to say the least. When I rate a restaurant one needs... to take into account the setting, the service, the food and the presentation in regards to the price that was paid. The setting is not as what was advertised on the pictures. The service was not professional enough as what you would expect at this price point and the entire five courses took four hours to be served with way too much inbetween time as the portions are small. The courses lacked flavor especially with the first course the soup and fourth course the main meat dish. Lastly, the point was the presentation of the dishes as that was acceptable for what was paid. We would not comeback.read more

Amazing experience! Worth every penny! Team was amazing, we were not rushed through the dinner, spent the longest time... in a restaurant, consciously eating and really tasting the food! All personnel were friendly, fun and funny and you can see they are really passionate about food and providing an amazing experience! Cook… 10 stars! I do suggest to try not to watch the photos of the food in advance! Experience is also enhanced by the element of surprise. Only downside was that we did not sit by the window, as the “view” spots are limited, but by the end of the night we could have dined outside and still have an amazing time. 🙂 Highly recommend it. Came here for a meal as I'm staying in a hotel nearby thinking that It was going to be just a bite to eat and it turned... out to be an amazing experience. There's no menu!! It's bespoke according to your taste bud, a brand new concept that is personal and challenging for the chefs but they delivered an excellent meal full of flavours and texture. It took over 4 hours to serve 5 dishes, so we were kinda hungry for half the time, as we had two small dishes and then waited for 1 hour or so to get the 3rd dish. I think the servers could have done a better job communicating or managing the expectations, but they kind of disappeared during this time.read more

Now who on earth would have expected that this little gem is located right next to a parking garage?It's such a... beautiful place with lovely staff and they have a view, oh what a view! You can sip your beer while watching thru big open windows (in summer of course), you are looking right at the IJ, see ships and the Amsterdam Tower.We came just for a drink but their menu looked lovely. Bathrooms are super nice but, just a suggestion, black toilet seats are not the smartest choice in my opinion. 😉 However we loved it and will definitely come back whenever we are in Amsterdam. 🙂read more

We had never been to the west docks area before, but it looked like an up-and-coming part of town with a lot of... high-tech. Some new hotels and restaurants were popping up and we had a short window of time and wanted a bite before our evening activity (at Virtuality, a three minute walk away). The restaurant was closing down but they still had a bar food option and we ordered some bites and a refreshing Heineken. Great views, neat decor, super friendly staff. Hot classic Dutch croquettes and shrimp bites were both delicious and inexpensive. Great values and reasonable prices.read more

I was not really pleased by this restaurant. The location is wonderful but the food was not that good. We made a... reservation with a social deal so the 3 course menu was 21 euros instead of 40 euros. They dont have a menu for drinks and the food so it was a surprise. The wine we had was not cold. First we got an amuse, a sort of bruchetta, is was nice. It took very long, about 45 min between the courses. And the disches were really small. The food was tasty but not that good. I would not pay 40 euros for this menu.read more
