Vegan Dining in Amsterdam, Fine-Dining Style

Looking for a vegan restaurant in Amsterdam where plants take centre stage? Nomad aan het IJ is a fine-dining restaurant on the waterfront with a fully vegan menu. Expect a vegan tasting menu of 5 or 6 courses, a chef’s surprise menu with each course inspired by a different country and packed with vegetables, herbs and flavours you won’t see coming.

Pure, with no artificial additives, and as little waste as possible. Because we serve a surprise menu, we buy exactly what we need and cook with what the season brings. We use vegetables from peel to leaf, and trimmings become stocks and sauces.

You dine by large windows overlooking the IJ, a 10-minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station, with the IJDock parking garage right below the restaurant.

Vegan, but your friends aren't?

Perfect, because that’s how most tables work here: one guest eats vegan, the others go for meat or fish. Everyone shares the same culinary world tour, and vegan guests get a plant-based dish with every course. You guess the countries together and nobody misses out.

When you book, just note in the comments how many guests are vegan or vegetarian; we adapt for gluten-free and allergies too. Planning a vegan dinner for a larger group? Have a look at our groups & events page.
